Recent Sales

This is a cotton fabric scarf that a friend commissioned me to make for her daughter's birthday. I took a variety of fabrics in to the yarn shop and she choose this one. The final scarf ended up being about 6" wide and 65" long, which is a good size to wrap up in, and she thinks her daughter will really like it.
These are a couple of the double pointed needles cases I'm making and selling at The Knitting Corner. So far I've made seven and sold three. The great thing is I don't have to purchase any new materials to make them because I've got tons and tons of fabric, and plenty of leftover batting from the ten charity quilts I finished back in March.

Goodbye Summer!

Here is my latest and greatest! This is 'Cybele' out of French Girl Knits by Kristeen Griffin-Grimes. At The Knitting Corner we have "Thank Yarn It's Friday" on Friday afternoons were people can bring in extra, unused balls of yarn to 'gamble' away. We put the yarn in the middle and play a little dice game, winner takes all. It's pretty fun and one week I won this yarn.

Also, the buttons on the back are real antler that Sue's dad made, which is pretty cool! :)

I have worn this a couple of times now and I always get lots of remarks. It is cute if I do say so myself!

Swing, Swagger, Drape

This is the Boxes Drape vest I was working on for my 12-week Swing, Swagger, Drape Knitting class when Carrie came to visit in early May. It turned out pretty cute and will be perfect for the fall and winter months. After finishing my vest above, I then decided to make this Miter Vee wrap. The yarn is a cotton/silk blend and was in the 'last chance' discount bin. Anyway, it has a nice weight and will be great for when the weather turns chilly.

June Quilts

This full-size black and white diamond quilt was commissioned by a friend for her fiance's birthday. She loved it and thought her fiance would too!!
This is my sister Brenna with her high school graduation quilt. I got most of the fabrics in a kit from a quilt shop in Michigan, and once I got it put together I realized this was a perfect quilt for my silly, crazy sister!! :)

Old Quilt Photos

I was going through my pictures and found a bunch of quilts I had made prior to the blog being started so I thought I would go ahead and share them now.
This is a square lap-size quilt I made for a family friend who is living in a nursing home. She loves lighthouses, which are featured in the center blue square.

This is a large lap-size Christmas quilt I made for my family, which gets pulled out and put on the living room couch each winter.

This is a square lap-size baby blanket I made for a co-worker in 2008 using a scrap kit I got at a local quilt shop.
This is a twin-size college graduation quilt I made for my cousin in Florida in 2009. This is the same cousin I made the black and white wedding quilt for last summer.

This is a rectangular baby blanket I made for my new cousin in Wisconsin in 2009. I used 'Precious Moments' fabrics that were on clearance (Yay!).

This is a square lap-size quilt that I made for a JoAnn's co-worker when she moved back to Florida in 2009. It was the first time I had done a pattern with triangles but I think it turned out pretty great (and she loved it!)!

This is a high school graduation quilt that I made for myself in 2008. It is the same pattern as the graduation quilt I made for my cousin (listed above) but obviously uses very different fabrics. This one features one of my favorite themes "Skulls and Crossbones"!

Baby Stuff

I made this hat and booties for 'my biggest customer' whose baby boy was born in the middle of March. I was able to use an extra ball of yarn I already had and it did not take very long to make.

Ginormous Knit Scarf

I made a purple scarf like this for myself and while I was wearing it several weeks ago a lady at Chick-fil-a loved it and wanted to buy a grey or black one. I figured the cable pattern would show up better on grey rather than black so that is what I went with. Anyway, I think it turned out great and she really liked it!
